To whom brain is given, sense is expected. But it seems like the wedding fever took over some people’s brains. A wedding guest of a newlywed revealed that she was contacted after the wedding by the couple, criticizing the gift she offered them, by calling it “insufficient.”
The email for the newlyweds read:
“We were surprised that your contribution didn’t seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day. In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received.”
The wedding guest is an ex-colleague of the bride. During the reception of the wedding she gave a £100 cheque gift to the couple but they said she wasn’t generous enough. The news went viral after the guest asked for advice on a parents’ website – Mumsnet. The newlywed has received series of online “mouth wash” for their unspeakable behavior.
According to the Guardian UK reports, the wedding guest said she was “gobsmacked” adding that her “own position” probably referred to a recent inheritance she had received.

“Please anyone, what do I do now? I’ve never come across anything like this before and still can’t quite believe they’ve done it – but since they have, should I reply, ring them, ignore it or what?”, she asked on the website.
The guest got over 1000 responses, with more than half telling her to cancel the cheque altogether. In response to the letter, she sent a reply to the couple saying “I assume this was some sort of mistake?” The guest said her mail was ignored as the bride never responded. If you were this guest, what will you do? Cancel the cheque, send more money or ignore the couple?
