Since the inception of the Buhari-led government, Nigerians have been “taught” by the officials of this administration to blame the immediate past administration of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for everything thing that is going wrong, while they (Nigerians) are to praise the “Buhari body language” for every improvement seen in the polity. Nothing good was ever achieved by the past administration, or so they want Nigerians to believe.
Yesterday, in the same spirit and will, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, decided to do what he is best at doing (opposition). He blamed the former President’s government for the current fuel scarcity in the country, which has lasted 59 days today. He said in a statement that:
“One of the reasons for the fuel scarcity was the inability of the last government to make adequate provision for fuel subsidy. We do face some other logistic problems but majorly, we are paying for the sins of the last administration. What I will be telling Nigerians is that what we met on ground is such that we are paying for the sins of the last administration. I am being very serious.”
For sure, he was not the only one “serious” because at this point, Nigerians have had enough. They are tired of the blame game and took to twitter to state their reservations for the current administration’s antics and especially Lai Mohammed with the hashtag #LetsBlameGEJ. See their tweets below:
