Keyamo Says Pinnick Was Not Sacked, Remains NFF President

Human rights lawyer and counsel to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Festus Keyamo, has on Sunday said that the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, has not been sacked by any court, and neither has Chris Giwa been installed as the new Chairman of the federation.

A Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State had on Friday reportedly sacked Amaju Pinnick as  NFF President,  and ordered that Chris Giwa resume office as the new president of the federation.

Keyamo, who spoke on behalf of Pinnick in a statement said

“The Supreme Court of Nigeria has held times without number that no court of law can issue an Order against a person that is not a party in a suit before a court without joining or hearing from that party, It is therefore a distortion of the Order of the Honourable Court to assume that Chris Giwa was ordered to resume as the Chairman of the NFF.”
