Empire: Will Jamal’s Bullet Shot Lead to His Exit from the Series?

The American hit Series, Empire, is unarguably one of the best musical films in recent times. Jamal Lyon, played by Jussie Smollett, was last seen fighting for his life in Empire season 2 Episode 17 and that could mark his end in the series. Loved by so many, disliked by his father, the handsome gay singer is most likely going to die in the finale episode of season 2, using that as the best opportunity to opt out of the Fox drama.

On May 12, Jussie Smollett wrote on Twitter via his account @JussieSmollett, about his possible exist as an Empire actor and also about Jamal’s shocking fate in the episode.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time @EmpireFOX. I love you all. Truth! Time 2 make a record & some movies. This is why we must watch how we treat people. We never know how long they have. Just in the blink of an eye. Gone. #Empire”

In the previous episode, Freda Gatz learnt that Lucious killed her father and she held him at gun point. Jamal, who was in the scene, jumped in front of Lucious as Freda fired at him and received a shot in his stomach.

Although Empire’s executive producer, Sanaa Hamri, has not come out plain to say if Jamal will die or not, two things are still involved. Since the actor has already announced that he is moving on to other things, the best way to get him off the film is to have him die from the gun shot. On the other hand, it may be best Jamal doesn’t die, so the chances of him coming back to Empire in the future will not be entirely eliminated.

Whatever the conclusion is, we will find out soon. Meanwhile, in reality a wedding happened recently between two Empire casts: Byers (Andre Lyon) and Grace Gealey (Anika), who tied the knots secretly on April 14, 2016. Another wedding, this time fictional, is about to happen in the next episodes between two unlikely people.
