On Saturday April 9, 2016, Nigerian singer, Jodie heard the first Kuchi Kuchi cry of her first baby with her husband, Nollywood actor, David Nnaji. The two celebrities got engaged in September 2015 and had their traditional marriage in a colorful ceremony on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Warri, Delta State.
After her first appearance in the music scene as a contestant on the first and only season of West African Idols, 2000, Jodie Nee Joy Odiete, made her debut single titled “Oh Baby.” The song was based on a mother’s love for her child and the video portrayed the message absolutely well. It is no coincidence that the amazing afro-textured-hair singer now has her own baby to show some love and sing Kuchi Kuchi for.
Meanwhile the new father posted on his Instagram page how excited he was on the arrival of his son while friends, family and fans send their congratulatory messages.
“My baby, my baby, thank you! #totustuus #wifey #happyfamily#homesweethome,” David Nnaji says via is handle @iamdavidnnaji. According to David, mother and child are doing perfectly fine, and pictures of the baby would be made available soonest.
Rewind to December 2014: Jodie revealed in an interview with Saturday Sun, that she was a virgin, and would remain so till her wedding night.
Obviously, that celibacy statement was only a wish, and since wishes are not horses, Jodie could not wait to get married before she ate the “golden fruit.” As seen in her wedding pictures, she was already pregnant and was not shy showing off her bulging tummy to the world during the marriage ceremony.
All the same, congratulations to the new parents. Fans are hoping that after a few months of post-natal care Jodie would come back to her first love – Music, as her voice has been missed for a while now.
