Tiwa Savage, alongside the CEO of her record label, Don Jazzy made a trip to the Roc Nation Headquarters in New York to have an official meeting with Jay-Z (Shawn Carter).
This is an indication that the two Nigerian Artists and repertoire personalities, Tola Odunsi and Bizzle Osikoya, who first tweeted about the signing were not lying.
Jay-Z was said to have nurtured his plans of signing the Mavin artiste since 2015 after his cousin Brian ‘Bee-High’ Biggs visited Mavin Headquarters in Lagos. The husband of R&B queen, Beyonce, was impressed by Tiwa’s music catalogue and profile and took the move to work with the talented Nigerian singer.
Don Jazzy shared a picture with him, Jay-Z and Tiwa Savage in New York with the caption: “My face like baba hurry up and show me where RiRi dey.” He also shared a quick video on Instagram with Jay-Z in the background captioning it “Shhhhhh don’t tell them.”
Tiwa Savage is still promoting her second album “R.E.D” and is also scheduled to perform at the ‘Made in America’ concert in September, where Rihanna is listed as the headliner.
Roc Nation was found in 2008 by Shawn Carter and has offices in New York, London, and Los Angeles. Tiwa Savage will be joining the likes of popular artistes such as Rihanna, Big Sean, DJ Khaled, among others, who are also signed to Roc Nation.
Seems like Tiwa’s separation from her husband, Tee Billz has opened more windows for her. While she travels to Dubai and now New York, her husband has gone ‘mum’ as his whereabout is virtually unknown.
