IMSU Best Graduating Student Gets Brand New Car, Scholarship And A whooping Sum


Whoever said hard work doesn’t pay needs to see more proof as the best graduating student of IMO State University IMSU at its 7th convocation, Mr Chigozie, was honored and showered with lots of blessings at the convocation ceremony.

Mr Chigozie, from Ogbaku, in Mbaitolu local government area of IMO state, a first class graduate of optometry, with a  CGPA of 4.71 emerged as the overall best graduate of the university out of 54,000 graduands billed to bag various Degrees and Certificates.

The ceremony which was held on the 18th March, 2016, had Mr Chigozie receiving the sum of 1 million naira, automatic employment as a lecturer in the university and a scholarship award for his master’s abroad from the state Governor Owelle Okorocha.

Also, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, the member representing Okigwe South Federal constituency and the Chief of staff government house Owerri, Hon. Uche Nwosu, who are both IMSU ALUMNIs gave Chigozie the total sum of five hundred thousand naira each (500,000) as an IMO star.

The C.E.O Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Chukwuma who was formally installed as the new Chancellor of the University at the occasion also pledged to donate a brand new car to Mr Chigozie from his company.

Hon. Mathew Omegara equally gave a total sum of 50,000 for the fueling of Chigozie’s brand new car.

The first class best graduand was inducted and decorated as a member of IMSU alumni by their National president with another reward of 100,000 naira.

At the occasion, it was all smiles and jubilation for the graduating stars as Dcn Chike Okafor gave a hundred thousand naira to the Best Graduating Students in all departments in the Business College plus Economics while the Best Graduating Students in all departments in the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, also received the same amount from Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor and a graduate of Urban and Regional Planning IMSU, the first SUG Director of Transport had Commissioned two toilet facilities he donated to the Students at the event.
