Nigerian pop star, Davido has set another international record. He has just emerged as the first African artiste to grace the cover of Spotify – the ‘African Heat Playlist‘ edition. This is a great step-up for the singer, who has placed himself on the international scene like his contemporary, Wizkid , who recently made number one spot on billboard charts. Spotify is known for its digital music services worldwide, however they recently launched the African playlist to cater to its increasing users across African countries as well as to connect with music and sound from Africa.
Davido produced most of his songs under HKN record label, and has also set up a new record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW). In 2016, he signed a mega deal with Sony Music Worldwide, now another with Spotify. The 23- year old singer and father of one, is sure making progress in his career and personal life.
Over the weekend, the young father celebrated his daughter’s birthday, who clocked one on May 14. Baby Imade Adeleke was born by Sophie Momodu, niece to popular Nigerian Journalist, Dele Momodu.
Spanning late last year to early this year, there was some baby mama drama between the Adelekes and the Momodus, with regards to who would take custody of the child. After a nasty battle between Sophie and Davido, which involved exchange of words with Sophie’s uncle, Davido’s baby girl finally has been placed in the right hands she needs to grow.
The happy father wrote in celebration of his little girl:
