Mr. Olalekan Olajobi, governorship aspirant of the People for Democratic Change (PDC) in Ondo State has asked the people of the State not to reject the food items distributed by Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
Olajobi said the food stuff are bought with tax payers money and should not be rejected by the people of the state, he urged them to however vote out the PDP in the Governorship polls slated for November 26.
Mimiko today lauched a food distribution program, tagged “Eto Igbe Ayo” to give food stuff to women in the state with the residency card, “Kaadi Igbe Ayo”.
The PDC aspirant warned the people not to fall prey for the gimmicks of Governor Mimiko and the PDP.
Olajobi condemned in strong terms the stomach infrastructure being exported into the state by Governor Mimiko.
He urged the people not to forget so quickly the event in Ekiti where Governor Ayodele Fayose used the same method to deceive the masses and at the end, it was discovered that the governor is richer than the state.
Mr. Olalekan Olajobi said the food distribution program by the Governor was meant to further insult the sensitivity of the people.
He accused Mimiko of intentionally creating artificial hunger, saying the Governor is trying to buy the people through his stomach infrastructure.
“After impoverishing the people of the state, governor Mimiko is now trying to woe the people ahead of the coming governorship election”
“The reason there are so much poverty in Ondo state is because the government has not paid salary for over six months”
“Now we can rightly say that the governor has intentionally refused to pay salary so as to use poverty to oppress, intimidate and woe the good people of the state”
“Since ondo state is a civil service state, the total population of the state depend largely on the workforce, non payment of salary has brought so much pain on the people ”
The PDC chieftain accused Mimiko of using the poverty he created as a strategy to woe the people in order to win their votes.
