Yippee! It’s Children’s Day and it’s all about the kids. Fortunately, this year’s celebration falls on a Friday so children have the whole weekend to relax, play and of course watch movies. Just in case you do not have plans of taking your children to the cinema, you can get them some amazing children movies to keep them entertained.

10. Inside Out

This is an animated film every child would love to watch. The movie is about a young girl, Riley who is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life.

9. Finding Dory

Finding Dory is about Dory (a fish) and her search for answers which led her to reunite with her friends Nemo and Marlin. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale? The movie will be released on June 17th, 2016 and stars big acts like Ellen DeGeneres, Hayden Rolence and Michael Sheen.

8. Boxtrolls

The boys will love this. It’s a story about a young orphaned boy raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors who tries to save his friends from an evil ex-terminator.

7.  Alice Through the Looking Glass

This is a continuation of Alice in wonderland. Alice returns to the whimsical world of Wonderland but this time, travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter.

6. Angry Birds

Angry Birds Movie is the most recent 2016 American 3D CGI-animation, which was released this May. The movie takes place on Bird Island, an untouched paradise where naive and innocent birds who know nothing of the outside world, live. However, one among them named Red, is exceptional and struggles to live with his difference.

5. The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is about an orphan boy who is raised in the jungle with the help of a pack of wolves, a bear, and a black panther.

4. Minions

Minions is a 2015 American 3D computer-animated family comedy film. Ever since the dawn of time, the Minions have lived to serve the most despicable master. From T. rex to Napoleon, the easily distracted tribe helps the biggest and the baddest of villains.

3. Home

An alien named Boov, while on the run from his own people, becomes friends with a little girl named Tip. He tries to help her on her quest to look for her lost mother after his kind displaced humans and took over earth. Home features pop singer Rihanna as Tip and Jennifer Lopez stars as her mother.

2. Annie

Annie is a 2014 American musical comedy-drama. Annie is a young, happy foster kid. While waiting for her parents, who abandoned her as a baby with the promise to come back, Annie stumbles into a politician (Jamie Foxx) who becomes her guardian.

1. Frozen 

Frozen is top on our list because both children and parents has a lot to learn from it. It’s about newly crowned Queen Elsa and her younger sister, Anna. When Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, Anna, teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition. Frozen teaches that unconditional love can melt a frozen heart.
