Chelsea are said to be set to conclude a £29.2 million deal for Leicester City and French midfielder, N’Golo Kante.
Leicester City have offered the 25-year-old a new contract worth over £100,000-a-week to stay but Kante is set on the idea of joining up with Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
The France international is keen to stay in the Premier League and shun the advances of Shanghai SIPG, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain with a five-year deal on the table at Chelsea.
The amount reportedly offered by Chelsea is said to be significantly higher than the release clause in Kante’s contract – which is said to be between £20 million and £22 million.
The French international was key to Leicester’s charge towards the title last season, and his impression on the Foxes’ team in his debut season has made him a wanted man to a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.
His energetic performances earned him a place in the PFA Premier League team of the year and he also forced his way into the France squad.
His potential arrival throws the future of Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic into doubt, and he could end up becoming Chelsea’s second big-money signing of the summer following the capture of forward, Michy Batsuhayi from Ligue 1 club, Marseille.
Manwhile, Willian has agreed a new four-year deal at Chelsea. The 27-year-old midfielder who had been linked with a possible move to Manchester United to join up with former Blues boss, Jose Mourinho, has given his new manager Antonio Conte a boost by committing his future to the London outfit ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
It is gathered that the Brazil international, who was Chelsea’s Player of the Year last season, will be earning £120,000-a-week after signing his new contract at Stamford Bridge.
