President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently on a short vacation in the UK, has hailed the Nigerian media for performing its duties diligently.
The President made his position known via his Twitter handle, @MBuhari, on Sunday in London, stating that he was always in touch with news from home.
President Buhari, whose picture was also posted in the tweet, specifically named Channels TV as one of his favourite Television stations.
Hear him: “Wherever I am, I keep up with news from home. Channels TV is one of my favorites. I’m proud of what the Nigerian media are achieving.”
With this post, insinuations about the President’s health conditions have been dispelled in addition to that released by the presidency over the weekend.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Saturday night, via his Twitter handle, dismissed the social media reports rumoring the death of President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as ‘evil’.
Mr. Adesina wrote; “Best wishes to all who wish PMB well. As for those who carry evil rumours, may they receive grace to repent.”
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, also dispelled the rumour as false and a clear case of mischief. Mallam Shehu further debunked the reports that the President was flown to Germany. He said;
“He is alive and well! President Buhari is not magical. He cannot be holidaying in the UK and be in Germany, dead or alive at the same time.
He is unlike a past President who was at Ota, with Chief Obasanjo and attending the Trump inauguration in D.C, being in two places at the same time!”
President Buhari who is expected back to the country on Feb. 6, 2017, left Abuja for the United Kingdom on Thursday on a short leave, which is part of his annual vacation.
