Buhari To Meet With Jonathan And Jega In Abuja, Thursday

President Buhari meets Jonathan and Jega on Thursday in Abuja for the first time since after the 2015 elections.

The President will be meeting with both former president Goodluck Jonathan and former INEC Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega.

The three will be converging at the annual Conference and Awards Ceremony of LEADERSHIP.

The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Abuja Transcorp Hilton Hotel by 10am.

According to a statement released by Leadership, the three dignitaries have confirmed their participation in the event.

The theme of this is year’s event is: ‘Democracy, Political Transition and the Challenge of Leadership in Africa.’

Also in attendance at the forum are two former presidents, governors, legislators, members of the diplomatic corps and elder statesmen.

Buhari Meets Jonathan At Leadership Awards

The keynote address will be delivered by the Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel.

A statement released by the Group Managing Director of Leadership, Dr Cletus Akwaya, yesterday, disclosed that the occasion will be chaired by former head of state,Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.



Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar will be presenting the Persons of The Year awards to winners at the event.

The publishing house also disclosed that President Buhari, former President Jonathan and Prof Jega, are LEADERSHIP’s Persons of the Year 2015.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, will be the royal father of the day at the event.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki will be the guest of honour at the awards event, while the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello is the co-host.

Other dignitaries also expected at the event include Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwabo, Speaker House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, former MD/CEO of Bank of Industry (BOI).

Also expected are Mr. Rasheed Adejare Olaoluwa and chairman of Honeywell Group, Oba Otudeko.

Also invited are several business groups, companies as well as the Golden Eaglets and the Chibok Girls.

Performing at the event will be Mavin Record’s act, Korede Bello.
