Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari commends Super Eagles of Nigeria on their sterling victory over the Algerian Foxes.
The Super Eagles defeated Algeria 3-1 in the Russia 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.
President Buhari’s congratulatory message was released through the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Adesina in his statement said:
“The President commends the team and its handlers for displaying uncommon strength, determination and high professionalism in the onward and steady progress to the 2018 tournament in Russia.
“With six points in our kitty from two impressive wins, President Buhari assures the team that the Federal Government; and indeed all Nigerians will continue to support them to make the nation proud.”
Buhari Commends Super Eagles For Winning Algeria
Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Saturday defeated Algeria’s Desert Foxes 3-1 in a 2018 World Cup Qualifier match held in Uyo.
The match which was played at the magnificent Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo Akwa Ibom State saw the Eagles cruise to victory.
Moses opened the scoring in the first half, with a second from captain Mikel Obi before the half time break.
The Desert Foxes’ Nabil Bentaleb pulled in their first and only goal just after the break.
In the closing minutes of the game, Victor Moses netted Nigeria’s third goal, sealing the victory for Gernon Rohr’s side.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom had promised the Super Eagles a whooping $10,000 per goal scored.
This means the Super Eagles aside from earning 3 points, have earned a cool $30,000 from today’s game.
