Boko Haram Ready To Negotiate Chibok Girls’ Release With FG


Dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram say they are ready to negotiate Chibok girls release with the Federal Government.

The terrorist group put forward a request through one Barrister Aisha Wakil saying that she represents them.

Reports say Boko Haram wants Aisha Wakil to represent them in negotiations with the government to secure the release of the Chibok girls.

This is coming on the heels of President Buhari’s New York trip to the UN.

President Buhari at the forum called on the UN to stand in and negotiate with the terrorist group.

The President had asked that the UN should intervene in the situation to enable the government secure the Chibok girls release.

Boko Haram Ready To Negotiate Chibok Girls Release

Aisha Wakil on her part, said she was willing to negotiate with the government for the release of the girls.

Wakil told IBTimes UK that the Boko Haram insurgents have put forward a request that she represents them in the negotiations.

Spokesperson for Aisha Wakil, Prince Lawal Shoyode said:

“There are three Boko Haram factions at the moment and all of them have requested to be represented by Barrister Aisha.”

Shoyode further disclosed that the first thing that will be negotiated is the release of the Chibok girls.

Wakil To Represent BHaram In Chibok Girls Release Negotiations

Not long after President Buhari’s speech, an audio allegedly made by a Boko Haram member in Hausa emerged online.

The sect had in the audio requested that Aisha Alkali Wakil represent them in negotiations with the Nigerian government.

Aisha Wakil, on her part, said:

“I want total surrender of the boys [Boko haram].

“I want them rehabilitated counseled, properly directed, and forgiveness from people. Then we move on.

“You know the release of Chibok girls and other captives are paramount.

“You also know that some of them are married with kids, sad but manageable.

“Let them come out and have a new life, homes.

“Once the boys will keep their stand on peace, dislodge all negative forces, we will be swimming in peace and joy.”
