The 90’s little gospel star, Benita Okojie is set to walk down the aisle this month with her college sweetheart, Olawale Adeyina.
Famous for her gospel hit ‘Osamudiamen’, Benita who recently released her pre-wedding photos, spoke about her love journey so far with Adeyina, a media enterpreneur – CEO of Green Street Media Network.
Colleagues from the same university – Redeemers University, Benita says they started out as friends but after their graduation, he wanted more than friendship from her.
The bride-to-be says that after praying and consulting with her mum, she felt a certain peace before taking the relationship to its next level.
Benita disclosed that one of the things which attracted her to her fiance is his closeness to her sister who happens to be his very good friend and business partner.
Describing the relationship between her and her sister as ‘very close’, Benita says over the years in the course of their relationship, both (sister and fiance) have been able to team up and pull great surprises for her on several occasions, of which she never had the slightest clue.
Disclosing how he popped the question, Benita Okojie says she knew he would also get her sister involved when he was ready. Hear her;
“On the morning of the proposal, the Nerd (as I like to call him) called me and we gisted as usual, after we did he asked to speak with my sister under the guise of work related stuff. He said she needed to go to the office to turn in a client’s job as soon as possible. I had no idea they had planned to go to the ring store. After their conversation, we made plans to go and see a movie.
“I went to get ready and we had agreed that he would pick me up at 12pm. When it was 12, there was no sign of him. 1pm passed, then 2pm… he still hadn’t come. I called to ask him why he was taking long. He apologized and said he had to get a job done for a client but he was on his way. When he came home, he came with my sister and she was forming vexing, that they didn’t open the gate early. It was part of her script. Lol.”
So concerned was she with them getting to the movies early that she didn’t notice anything strange. The magical moment came when she returned to the living room from getting something outside and saw him kneeling with a box.
Soon-to-be Mrs. Adeyina recounts that the proposal is one she will never forget in a hurry even though she can’t remember anything he said thereafter because she started screaming and running around the house.
