Aisha Buhari To Travel To The US In August Despite Allegations


Wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Buhari will be in the United States of America in the month of August.

Mrs. Buhari will be making her trip to the US for several meetings, as well as for other engagements.

This is coming on the heels of accusations by embattled Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose that she was involved in the infamous Halliburton scandal.

Governor Fayose had previously claimed that Aisha Buhari was involved in the Halliburton scandal and as a result could not travel to the US for fear of arrest.

However, reports according to the New York Times reveal that the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari is not the same as the said “Aisha Buhari” involved with the Halliburton scandal.

The recent reports have invalidated Governor Fayose’s allegations, as Mrs. Buhari makes plans for her US trip in August.

According to an official invitation letter obtained by SaharaReporters, Mrs. Buhari is expected to be in the US from August 1st to the 10th.

Aisha Will Be In The US In August

She will be attending a couple of bilateral meetings at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Mrs. Buhari will also be hosted by the United States Institute of Peace in collaboration with the Voice of America media organization.

According to the invitation, Mrs. Buhari will

“…attend the 25th Anniversary celebration of Zumunta Association USA Inc.”

The letter was signed by Hajo Sani, the Senior Special Assistant (Administration), on behalf of Mrs. Buhari.

Governor Fayose, according to a purportedly leaked document from the US State Department, has had his US visa revoked since 2006.

This happened following evidence of him sponsoring violence in Ekiti State and also for corrupt practices.

With his visa revoked, the controversial Ekiti State Governor, Fayose cannot travel to the US legally.
