Adekunle Gold is one of Nigeria’s fastest growing artistes, who’s been making waves in the country even without an album. After the release of some hit singles, the Orente singer is set to release his first album.
The long-awaited debut album from the YBNL singer will be released on July 28, 2016. To that regard, he plans a private listening party which will hold on August 2, 2016 in Lagos.
Last month Adekunle revealed the cover art of and album title. Adapting his stage surname, he calls his debut album ‘Gold.’
Adekunle Gold, who has built a high anticipation for his debut album, has promised his fans that the album will be a classic. His previously released singles include, ‘Orente,’ ‘Sade’ ‘Pick Up.’ and ‘Ready.’
This album was scheduled for an earlier release date, June 1. However, Mr. Adekunle pushed it further for the sake of his Muslim friends who were observing Ramadan, According to him, his Muslim friends don’t listen to music during Ramadan, so it makes sense to push it forward because of them so that everyone can enjoy the album together.

Meanwhile early this month, Adekunle’s single ‘Pick Up,’ was rated as the most played song on Nigerian radio for 2016 so far, according to Playdata (a broadcast monitoring and reporting solution) led by Eldee.
Playdata usually scans the broadcast stream for songs based on measurements from impressions gathered from radio stations in Lagos and several other cities across Nigeria by following play counts and reporting with simplified analytics. That was how they were able to come up with the statistics for ‘Pick Up.’
The song ‘Pick Up’ was produced by Pheelz and released in December 2015. Other songs of the singer have also gotten wide range airplay as well, and fans are anticipating to hear the other songs in the album, Gold. Fingers Crossed!
