Contrary to the anticipated release date of Gold Album, which was meant to be out on the 28th July, 2016, Adekunle Gold dropped his album two days earlier.
Wizkid and Beyonce did a similar stunt while releasing their album and it paid off, but Adekunle may be having issues with bloggers for uploading Gold album on their blogs and enabling free downloads.
Adekunle dropped Gold album yesterday 26th July exclusively on iTunes and the album was sold for 99 cents per track. Trust Nigerian bloggers, who know how to drag traffic to their sites, they uploaded Gold album for free downloads less than 24 hours after its release, making it’s sales on iTunes drop drastically.
A fan, Tunde Praise, brought this rights infringement to the singer, advising him to take legal actions against the bloggers.
“U took off an entire album on iTunes, uploaded it on your site for free download. That’s wickedness o @adekunleGold should take legal actions,’ said the fan via his handle @TundePraise.
Mr. Gold responded saying him and his team are doing something about the situation. “we are on it, Thanks for your concern,” he said.
The Gold album consists of 15 tracks and one bonus song, Sade. The album also contains his hit songs like ‘Pick Up’, and ‘Orente.’
Surprisingly, the YBNL signed singer featured only one artiste on the album, no other but Simi, his rumoured girlfriend, who also mixed and mastered a good number of songs in the album. The songs were produced by the following producers Pheelz, Mastercraft, B Banks, Oscar, Seyi Keyz, and Sleekamo while most of the guitar works were done by Fiokee, former Star Quest Winner.
