Eleven (11) senior police officers out of 156 promoted officers, were today 6th April 2016, decorated by the IGP Solomon E. Arase and assisted by the Deputy Inspector General of Police and other members of the Force management team.
On the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Service Commission last month approved the promotion of one hundred and fifty-six (156) Police officers.
The decoration ceremony which was held at the Force Headquarters Abuja, was witnessed by spouses and friends. The IGP congratulated and charged the officers to live up to the expectation as the Force is stepping up effort to restore civil authority in the North East.
The newly promoted senior police officers are, one commissioner of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and ten (10) Deputy commissioners of Police to the rank of Commissioners of Police, namely;

3. CP YUNANA Y. BABAS
4. CP DAN-MALLAM MOHAMMED
5. CP MU’AZU ZUBAIRU HALILU
6. CP RABIU YUSUF
7. CP SANUSI NMA LEMU
8. CP AHMED ILIYASU
9. CP ISYAKU MUKTAR GARKU
10. CP MOHAMMED UBA KURA
11. CP ALHASSAN MAMUDA
The promotions which took effect from 15th March 2016, had in total, 156 senior police officers promoted to the next rank. They include 19 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) promoted to the next rank of Deputy Commisioners of Police (DCP).
Also, 20 Chief Superintendents of Police, (CSP), were promoted to the rank of ACP, with one Superintendent of Police, (SP) moved to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
100 Assistant Superintendents of Police, (ASP) were promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and four (4) Inspectors were promoted to the next rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The commission also approved the upgrading of 11 Rank and File Police Officers trained as pilots to the rank of DSP in line with their pilot license and certificate.
